Many dieters shy away from potatoes due to the mistaken idea that these tubers are high in calories. While the potato is a rich source of carbohydrates, the problem really comes from added fats. Putting large amounts of butter and sour cream on a potato could easily double or triple the number of calories. When it comes to added calories, I guess you could say that it’s what’s on top that counts
