First Annual World Junk-Food Free Day

”Choose Health. It's That Simple.”

On December 1, 2005 we will launch the first annual
World Junk-Food Free Day.™

World Junk-Food Free Day was established to bring attention to the impact of an ever expanding junk-food and fast-food industry on the growing incidence of obesity in the United States, even in the face of widescale hunger around the world.

Our goal is to have every person commit to saying no to junk food on World Junk-Food Free Day. Celebrating this event could be something as simple as not drinking any soda, or eating any chips, pastry or fried food on that day

But, don’t just not eat junk food. Seek healthy alternatives. Water, low-fat milk, succulent fruits, crisp and crunchy vegetables, whole grain cereals, dried beans, peas, nuts and seeds are all nutritious options.

Schools, faith-based and community-based organizations, after-school programs and anyone concerned about the growing obesity epidemic in the midst of world hunger is invited to join us in celebrating World Junk-Food Free Day.

We also welcome businesses that share our vision to provide sponsorships and advertise with us.

For more information about events and activities, or to become a sponsor, call 786-566-9985, or send us an email to drdorene@dailydietguide.com.
