10 Things You Can Do To Stop Unwanted Weight Gain

1. Learn the basics of good nutrition.


2. Plan meals around the core foods. The USDA food guide pyramid is a good framework on which to build a healthy diet.

3. Define your goals clearly.

4. Be flexible. Special occasions and dining out call for some relaxation of the rules, but you can’t go overboard.

5. Eat foods you like, but keep the amounts within reason..

6. Culture matters. Build on the good foods you know and love to eat, even if it means making a few modifications in the way those foods are prepared.

7. Size matters. Keeping portions to a minimum will help to keep you from exceeding limits.

8. Plan for snacks. Don’t stock your cupboard with foods you know will undermine your efforts.

9. Make exercise an important part of your weight control plan.
