Diet Saboteurs
Sometimes
it takes a strong willpower and heightened awareness to overcome obstacles
to success.
The
first step in overcoming diet saboteurs is to understand the nature
of the challenges you will face, and deal with them
In
essence, you will have to wear the hat of a "Diet Detective"
to identify diet saboteurs and find ways to overcome them.
Here
are a few situations to think about. Plan your counter-attack.
-
A
colleague brings food, sweets or other treats to work and invites
you to partake.
-
You
are constantly invited to lunch or dinner and exposed to situations
where the food served is not in line with your diet plans.
-
When
dining out or at social gatherings, you are served larger portions
than you would like, and feel compelled to finish the meal so as
not to hurt the feelings of the host.
-
You
would rather go to a quiet, upscale restaurant that offers the kinds
of foods that are consistent with your diet, but your friends insist
on dragging you out for pizza and beer.
-
Your
friends express displeasure if you do not partake of their high
calorie, hip enhancing, calorie-laden treats.
-
You
go shopping on an empty stomach and pick up all the tempting goodies
at the deli bar or you head straight for the pastry counter.
-
You
stock up on high calorie food and drinks and your favorite snacks,
just in case company stops by, when in fact you are the only company
in the house.
